As I mentioned in a previous post, we have been pleasantly surprised that when programming the game with the AGS tool, which in principle is to develop games for the Windows operating system, there are different plugins, known here by the name of “ports” for a lot of operating systems and supports.
And in most cases there is nothing to do in our code to work. Just follow the instructions to install the “port” to the desired system et voila! Our game is multiplatform and will be available for Windows, Android, iOS, Linux, Mac OSX and PSP.
However, as we warned, we only guarantee correct operation on Windows operating systems. For other systems and platforms will work or not based on the creators of the respective “ports”. But as we explained in the post of “Installing the demo on Android“, we will try to make an effort to work on other platforms. In the case of Android it was to create a subfolder called “Compiled” where to put the game files. It’s that simple.
What do you need to do to install the demo and future game on other platforms?
Nothing simpler to go to the AGS program donwload page and follow the instructions provided for each platform.
Android we already showed how to do it in his day. And for Linux we’ve tried it following the instructions on this page:
We installed it on a Ubuntu 14, by typing in the terminal the following instructions:
sudo apt-get install git debhelper build-essential pkg-config libaldmb1-dev libfreetype6-dev libtheora-dev libvorbis-dev libogg-dev
git clone git://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags.git cd ags
sudo make --directory=Engine install
Then copy the demo in a folder on the hard disk and type:
